our story
It all started in April of 1972 with two tractors and five trailers. By June 1972, the company was incorporated as Cox Transfer, Inc. of Eureka, IL. Over the next half century Cox would relocate to its' current Eureka destination - just down the road from where it all began. We now boast an impressive fleet of 100 trucks and 450+ trailers. In 2011, drastic changes were made as ownership was handed over to the current president, Mark Voudrie.
Today we focus on hiring to retire, customer service, and using modern & safe equipment. Company drivers are in 2022 or newer trucks and lease purchase drivers are in 2020 or newer trucks. We order equipment based on safety and fuel mileage with our over-the-road fleet average being 9+ miles per gallon. Our preventative maintenance program minimizes equipment down time and helps to provide consistent superior service to our customers. When it comes to our drivers we respect that they each have lives outside of work - ensuring they get home weekends and willing to work out whatever weekly schedule they may need. Keeping our drivers happy keeps Cox Transfer and our customers happy.
